Perrong Law LLC Wins Act 22 Appeal Against City of Philadelphia

It’s well known that the City of Philadelphia and the City Solicitor’s office have adopted a policy of unwarranted denials of Act 22 requests for bodycam footage and 911 audio. As Judge Street of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas reasoned in the attached opinion:

The PPD's contention that the body cam footage "pertains to a criminal investigation" in this case would mean that no body cam footage would ever be released.

Wow. Incredibly well-reasoned and I am sure will be quoted in other Act 22 appeals going forward. One would hope that the City Solicitors will reconsider their position, but we all know they won't.
